WELCOME TO SERVE 201

As you may remember from DISCOVER 101, our mission at Freedom Life Church is “to help people LIVE FREE as transformed people, family, church and culture.” We accomplish this mission through what we call “3D Ekklesia,” which is:

  1. Ministry to the Multitude (Serve Team)

  2. Ministry of the Fivefold (Basic Training)

  3. Ministry of the Saints (Groups)

If your heart resonates with this mission, then we invite you to serve at Freedom Life. But we are not just looking for volunteers. We are looking for people who are passionate about fulfilling their eternal purpose through serving others.

Here’s how the apostle Peter put it:

1 Peter 4:10 (ESV): Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

You are uniquely gifted to serve others. God handcrafted you to manifest his grace in ways that only you can. This means that you must discover how God made you to learn what he made you to do. How you are made reveals what you called to do. As we like to say at Freedom Life, design determines destiny. The way God made you reveals what he plans to do with you.

SPIRIT-LED SELF-DISCOVERY

So, the best way to get started serving others is to take a quick look at yourself. We can only become selfless by becoming self-aware. That may seem counter-intuitive at first, but as you discover by the Spirit how God made you, you will come to appreciate more and more how your self-discovery journey empowers you to love others well.

At Freedom Life, we help you get started by pointing you to a few self-tests that will help you see how God made you.

BEYOND SUNDAY

Every Sunday, our teaching is oriented toward investing you with keys that you can carry with you into your sphere of influence. If all we do on Sunday is what we do on on Sunday, then we have fallen far short of the Great Commission. As we like to say, “Sunday is about Monday!”

This is one reason why we encourage serving at Freedom Life. Of course, it takes volunteers to make things happen. But our volunteer teams are doing much more than just the immediate tasks they are assigned. The teams are learning how to serve—how to serve with kingdom authority.

Serving on a Sunday at Freedom Life is “training for reigning.” Grace is released through you when you serve, and you will carry that grace into your everyday world. This is why we serve on the Freedom Life Serve Team—to help people take church outside the four walls. Sunday is about Monday!

The Serve Team makes life-giving church happen every week.  Serve Team volunteers are gift facilitators—from Kids Team to Students Team to Connect Team to Worship Team to Prayer Team to every team that serves. It’s all about helping people LIVE FREE as transformed people, family, church and culture.

1 Corinthians 12:4-5, 27 (Living Bible): Now God gives us many kinds of special abilities...There are different kinds of service to God [ministry]...All of you together are the one body of Christ, and each one of you is a separate and necessary part of it.

 
 

PLANNING CENTER

At Freedom Life Church, we use a powerful church management software called “Planning Center Online” to facilitate the Serve Team. Once you are connected with the Team Lead for whatever team(s) you sign up for, they will add you to the Services app. (Please download the Services App for Apple or Android HERE.)

You will receive scheduling emails that will allow you to “ACCEPT” or “DECLINE” scheduling requests and “BLOCK” out dates when you will be unavailable for scheduling for whatever reason.

Also, Freedom Life Church uses the Church Center app for events, groups and other church-wide activities. The Church Center app is a fantastic way to stay connected. Install the app HERE.

CONNECT TEAM

JEREMY & RACHAEL DOUCET | TEAM LEADS

The Connect Team welcomes guests each Sunday “from street-to-seat.” The Connect Team includes outdoor/indoor signage, Connect Point (coffee, guest table) ushers, greeters, security and medical. The Connect Team is our “first impressions & guest relations” team.

 

KIDS TEAM

JEANA PIXLER & MARIETTA NAJERA | TEAM LEADS

Freedom Life Kids serves each Sunday to create a safe, fun environment for kids to learn about Jesus. Freedom Life Kids serves children from Birth to 6th Grade.

NOTE: Serving on the Kids Team requires a background check.

WORSHIP TEAM

STEVE PIXLER & ALAINA PIXLER | TEAM LEADS

Freedom Life Worship serves each Sunday to create an atmosphere where the Presence of God is hosted. The Worship Team includes the Stage Team (band, vocals, hosts) and A/V Team (sound, lights, projection, video).

NOTE: Serving onstage with the Worship Team (band, vocals, hosts) requires an interview and audition.

 

PRAYER FORCE

STEVE PIXLER | TEAM LEAD

Freedom Life Prayer Force is our prayer team at Freedom Life Church. The PRAYER FORCE meets each Sunday morning for pre-service prayer and serves as the Altar Team at the end of the message each Sunday.

STUDENTS TEAM

DILLON PULLEY | TEAM LEAD

Freedom Life Students gathers weekly on alternating Wednesdays and Fridays. Students also serve on the Serve Team on Sundays.

NOTE: Serving with the Students Team requires a background check.

 

PASTORAL CARE TEAM

JEREMY & RACHAEL DOUCET | TEAM LEADS

The Pastoral Care Team is the shepherding team at Freedom Life Church. Pastoral Care focuses on loving people, ministering to their needs when they are sick, hospitalized, welcoming a new baby, getting married—or any other significant life event where we can gather around and love people. If you are interested in helping care for people, this is the team for you!

  1. Sign up for the teams on which you wish to serve. (Your class leaders will help you get signed up.)

  2. Sign up for VISION 301, the next class in the FREEDOM LIFE CONNECT TRACK. Pastors Steve & Jeana Pixler teach VISION 301, which is all about living out the Kingdom of God in your world. You don’t want to miss this!
